December 2005 Dear Scrumpy-and-Western fans, Re Dispute over the name The Plonkers As you know, we are Plonker's Agricultural Orchestra, formed over 30 years ago and performing continuously ever since. We are often known as The Plonkers. Some of you may have been aware that recently a group of people have been promoting themselves under the name The New Forest Plonkers and sometimes even as Plonkers Agricultural Orchestra or The Original Plonkers. This has caused us some distress as we have worked hard to build a reputation for genuine Hampshire moosic in our own style and we do not take kindly to others trying to pass themselves off as us! So we have now finally gained legal control over the name The Plonkers and all similar names. Our Trade Mark No. is 2393125 and is registered at the UK Patent Office. It covers: Trade Mark Class 41: Musical entertainment services, musical group entertainment services, entertainment in the form of live musical performances, entertainment services in the form of concert performances, entertainment services performed by musicians and singers, entertainment services provided by a musical vocal group. For the record, we do not give permission for anyone else to call themselves "The Plonkers" or any variation of that name. We hope this will now bring an end to the unpleasant situation of the last few years and we can: Get on with the moosic!!! Gordon Brownen |
